My favorite new expression is "it's like havin' a dove field." I overheard it tonight, and it followed a conversation about fishing, and a question about whether or not everyone had their ponds.
It would seem that it requires a significant commitment to maintain a relationship that would allow one lifetime access to a "pond...." and that it is, in fact, "like havin' a dove field."
I am going to practice using it in a sentence until I get the context right. Because my guess is that, while many things in life probably are like "havin a dove field..." probably just as many are not at all like "havin a dove field."
The trick, I think, is figuring out which is which.
